ASP
"Application service provider" - provider of a service-oriented application (web-based) environment, equivalent usage "SaaS"

Asset
"A useful or valuable thing" - in a media context it is a digial media object with with a life cycle starting at creation and continuing to (multiple) re-use. Keywording (metadata) as well as fully integrated, central referencing across all publication channels play a major role in enabling re-use.

DAM
"Digital Asset Management" - refers to the intelligent management and distribution of digital goods (media), see also MAM

Derivative
Name for a derived media asset, e.g. a variation automatically created for special publication channels (and listed in the MAM backend). Classically, there are of each media item "thumbnail"- and "preview" formats for display in the front end of the mediacockpit Portal.

ERP
"Enterprise resource planning" - An ERP system is a complex application to support an entire enterprise resource planning process.

MAM
"Media Asset Management" - refers to the intelligent management of media, see also DAM
Exactly considered the concept of MAM in a variety of other disciplines is to:

Master data management
is the central management of master data, master data attributes or reference data, globally valid, to ensure system and cross-application consistency. A fully integrated system landscape for the integrated publishing of consistent master data is provided by mediacockpit.

Multichannel strategy
Multichannel strategies are associated with a stronger orientation towards the customer, because this significantly decides on the use of communication channels. This requires an evolutionary adaptation of the existing form of organization with the goal of a completely customer-centric organization. With regard to publishing, this means developing an efficient system landscape (CMS - DAM - E-mailing - ERP - fulfillment - PIM - webshop)

PIM
"Product Information (Management) System" - is an efficient, database-driven master data management across the entire product range. Multilingual, attribute and price management, and integration interfaces play an important role in the selection of a suitable provider.

SaaS
"Software-as-a service" - provider of a service-oriented application (web-based) environment, see also ASP

Web2Print
Server-based online individual print document generation, ideally with the involvement of standards (e.g. Adobe InDesign server or third-party). Through the online management of printing activities while leveraging corporate design, production and approval processes be speeded up massively.
